How Great Is Our God - Part 2

Have you ever had someone make you feel really small? Typically, the encounter leaves you feeling shame and embarrassment. And, an overwhelming feeling to get even!

Encountering the Christ on the cross has a similar "shrinking" effect. To realize that someone would go through such torture and pain...on purpose (ya'll remember "The Passion of The Christ or read Isaiah 53?).

Martin Luther, the famous Christian reformer said, "Here all men must confess their incapacity and inability to do the good." The place he was speaking of was the cross. Yet, I have never once left the cross and felt shame or embarrassment. Small yes, helpless yes, but never shame. I realize that when I visit the cross, I feel joy that my sins are forgiven. I feel and understand the unconditional love of God not just for me alone, but to all humanity. I feel a strong sense of pride in my God that He defeated the enemy!

When I visit the cross and realize "How Great Is My God"! And walk away wanting to serve Him and go wherever He leads me.

How truly amazing He values each one of us~ When I think of the colors, expanse & depth of His love for me, no situation I encounter shakes me ...for long. How can I allow it to take me away from the only one Who truly knows me & cares about me? For years I listened to satan and his pride and wouldn't come and humbly submit myself to the shame of the cross thinking the embarrassement of admitting who I was before God and everyone else was too much to bear and that I would be destroyed by it. I was right in part, the sinful control satan had on me WAS destroyed by it. Instead of all the lies that wicked devil told me about how I'd feel, I have found that in admitting my utter inability to do ANYTHING good apart from the Spirit's unction I have found joy inexpressible as you have testified! Glory to God in the Highest! Keep up the Good work for the cross of our Christ who is never defeated!
