people can know Jesus! That is one of the foundational things that our
church is built upon. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "That I may know him, and
the power of his resurrection...(Philippians 3:10). There are so many
people in our generation that don't know Him. They may know about Him, but
some how, some way, knowing WHO He is, has not led to a decision to know
HIM!

As we start to draw near to the greatest season in history, Easter, we want
to encourage you to draw close to the man behind the season. There are many
things that are great about Easter and the resurrection of Christ. One of
them is this...that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives
in you. You have the power, if you know HIM to have a personal resurrection
and to live life to the fullest in God.

At the Bridge, we are experiencing the year of NO LIMITS. We are seeing
record numbers in attendance, serving, and financial giving. We know it is
because we are pursuing Jesus and knowing the power of His might!! We want
to encourage you to come and experience the excitement and passion that
comes from this church. It is truly amazing!

The Prayer of Repentence

Last night, during our Wednesday Re-fuel service, God gave me such new revelation on repentance. So many want life change, but are only upset at their current position. They have no distaste for the past and how they got to the current. When this is the case, we are doomed to go back to the same patterns and life choices that got us where we are in the first place!!! Repentance is more then just stopping, and going in different direction, it is about stopping, acknowledging our sin, and choosing to go in the GOD direction!

And somethng powerful happens when we do that...God moves in and gives us joy! John 10:27 tells us that as sheep, we hear the voice of God and only Him we will follow. I was so reminded of this early this morning. I got up and the most awful thing that could happen happened...I made my coffee and had no sugar in the house! For those that know me personally, that is sin itself. So, off to Winn Dixie I go to get the necessity. As I am walking through the store, I run into these two people frantically running around the store picking up some of the strangest items...multiple bottles of Windex, shaving cream, paper plates, bread, peanut butter...I was not sure if they were shopping for their home or preparing for the end of the world. Then I noticed that both of them had Duval County Public School badges on. Then it finally hit me...END OF YEAR CLASS PARTY. Hey every little kid loves a shaving cream face on their desk as they make peanut butter sandwiches. I did not think much of it after that, but continued to notice the couple throughout my mad hunt in the store for sugar. Side note to Winn Dixie....MAKE THE SUGAR EASIER TO FIND! A few minutes later, I had found the sugar, I was in the line and ready to start my day. Then wouldn’t you know it? The couple was behind me in line...and God began to speak...”I want you to pay for their supplies in my name”. For those of you that have experienced such a thing...the next 5 seconds seemed like an hour as I worried and stressed about...”They will think am weird”, “That is embarrassing”...and the biggest one of all...”I DON’T HAVE THE MONEY”! Then I turned to ask them “Are you buying supplies for your class?” They answered affirmatively and then the thoughts (or should I say fears in the form of thoughts) started again. Not needless to say...I went through with it! I chose the cash back option on the little swipey thingy, took out $40.00 and turned to them and said...”I would like to donate to your class.” The amazed tone in the their voice of “Really!” said it all. God has struck something. I am sure their thoughts (or should I say shock in the form of thoughts) where varied. Maybe “And why would he do that!”, or “Who is this pedophile trying to smooze in on my class.” My response was that “God sees you raising up world changers.”. With that, I walked out of that store and the day became more than just about getting a bag of sugar for my needed coffee. It became about giving myself away to a purpose. Some kid in that class is gonna have the cure for AIDS, write the next Christian best selling fiction series, be the next mega pastor in Jacksonville. And today, God used me to “give myself” into it. I am going to share more on this topic tonight at the Ascension Worship event at Hillcrest Baptist Church. It starts at 7pm and is located at 7673 Collins Rd (www.ascensionworship.com for more details). Join us to hear more about how you can “give yourself away” to the mission of activating world changers in this generation...looking forward to seeing you there. - cc

I am kinda sad :( its over.
These concepts have been stirring in my for the last 4 months so I am
glad to have been able to share them. This year is going to be so great
for our church. The real nature of the gospel message is going to come
into view for us. Our mission is clear...to become the life
transformation center that teaches God's children to overcome and live
the God ordained life.

So Bridgers, tell me what you think? Are you ready for the challenge to change!

Let me know your thoughts on the series, concepts and things we have learned.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Yours in Christ, Pastor C

Typically, the
encounter leaves you feeling shame and embarrassment. And, an
overwhelming feeling to get even!

Encountering the Christ on the cross has a similar "shrinking" effect.
To realize that someone would go through such torture and pain...on
purpose (ya'll remember "The Passion of The Christ or read Isaiah 53?).

Martin Luther, the famous Christian reformer said, "Here all men must
confess their incapacity and inability to do the good." The place he
was speaking of was the cross. Yet, I have never once left the cross
and felt shame or embarrassment. Small yes, helpless yes, but never
shame. I realize that when I visit the cross, I feel joy that my sins
are forgiven. I feel and understand the unconditional love of God not
just for me alone, but to all humanity. I feel a strong sense of pride
in my God that He defeated the enemy!

When I visit the cross and realize "How Great Is My God"! And walk away wanting to serve Him and go wherever He leads me.

Share your thoughts about your Great God!

13 The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;14 From His dwelling place He looks [intently] upon all the inhabitants of the earth--15 He Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings. --AMP

This is the Amplified Bible's rendering of one of the verse's from last night's video...I like how it uses the word INTENTLY...

It is good and needed even for us to understand that God sees us and knows our need. But do we go to the level to believe that he does it with intention. Meaning God is not haphazard or reckless in His watching over us. There is a focus to it. There is a purpose to it. It is ON PURPOSE that He watches over us. God knows me...ALL OF ME...my good points and my well not yet so good points. Yet He is still intentional towards me. And for this and many other reasons...I believe my God is great!

This is the thought that I got last night at Mid Week Bible Study. God is Great because he watches all of us with intention.

I would love to hear your thoughts...what did the Lord reveal to you about just how Great He Is!
